Celebrate the famous National Cherry Festival in the charming town of Young, known as the Cherry Capital of Australia. This festive 5-day tour combines orchard visits, colourful parades, heritage attractions, beautiful gardens and delicious local produce, all at a relaxed pace designed especially for senior groups.

The Itinerary

Day 1

Sydney to Young & Multicultural Cherry Fiesta

Travel by deluxe coach through the Southern Highlands and Hilltops region, with a comfort stop and lunch along the way.

Arrive in Young and check in to your centrally located accommodation before enjoying free time to relax or explore the town.

In the evening, experience the official opening of the National Cherry Festival at the Multicultural Cherry Fiesta, featuring international food stalls, live entertainment and cherry-themed treats.

Day 2

Cherry Orchards & Grand Parade

Begin the day with a visit to a local cherry orchard for tastings and a gentle “pick your own” experience (season permitting).

After lunch, enjoy a guided coach tour of Young, learning about its gold rush past, Chinese heritage and long association with cherry growing.

In the afternoon, take your seat along Boorowa Street to watch the spectacular National Cherry Festival Street Parade, celebrating the festival’s 100th anniversary with colourful floats, bands and community groups.

Dinner this evening is at the Young Services Club.

Day 3

Festival Markets & Chinese Gardens

Spend the morning browsing the popular Festival Markets at Anderson Park, featuring handmade crafts, local produce, cherry products and live entertainment.

Visit Poppa’s Fudge & Jam Factory for tastings and gift shopping before enjoying a light lunch in town.

This afternoon, relax with a visit to the beautiful Lambing Flat Chinese Tribute Gardens, where you’ll enjoy a peaceful stroll and afternoon tea beside the lake.

Dinner once again at the Young Services Club.

Day 4

Junee Licorice Factory & Country Scenery

Depart Young for a scenic day tour through the Riverina.

Visit the famous Junee Licorice & Chocolate Factory for a guided tour of the historic flour mill, demonstrations and tastings, followed by lunch at the Loft Café.

Enjoy a picturesque drive via Temora and the Weddin Mountains, with countryside views and photo opportunities, before returning to Young.

This evening, celebrate your farewell dinner at the Young Services Club.

Day 5

Cowra Japanese Garden, Abercrombie House & Return

After breakfast and check-out, travel to Cowra to visit the stunning Cowra Japanese Garden and Cultural Centre, including guided tour and morning tea.

Continue to Bathurst for lunch and a guided visit to the magnificent Abercrombie House, a grand Scottish Baronial mansion set in beautiful grounds.

Relax on the coach for the return journey to Sydney, arriving late afternoon with wonderful memories of cherries, culture and country hospitality.
